Oblivion

“When thou enterest into Oblivion, Oblivion entereth into thee.”

Look, more nerdy Elder Scrolls posts. But doesn’t this apply to life, too?

Knowledge

Hello, dearest readers.

I have been playing Skyrim for the last week. An entire winter vacation with no job and game as addicting as Skyrim means that I have over seventy hours put into it thus far. That being said, I’m not about to talk to you about my character and my class and my awesome hand-crafted, elitist set of armor and my maxxed out skillsets.

Rather, I just want to share this quote for you, spoken by the Augur of Dunlain. The Augur was once a mage who experimented with magic. After an experiment went terrible wrong, he lives as a sort of magical entity under the College of Winterhold (sort of like a Mage’s college in Skyrim). Not really a ghost – simply an essence; a soul, if you will.

“You seek that which all who wield magic seek: knowledge. You shall find this: Knowledge will corrupt. It will destroy. It will consume. You seek meaning, shelter in Knowledge. You shall not find it. The Thalmor sought the same thing, and it shall lead to his end, as it has so many others.”

That’s all, folks. Sorry I suck at keeping a blog.
